Next week, we’re releasing the 2016 BrightTALK Webinar Benchmarks Report. We analyzed thousands of pieces of content on the BrightTALK platform to understand the current state of B2B marketing and what it takes to run a robust webinar program.

This report is always one of our favorite pieces to publish — so much so that we wanted to share a sneak peek of the findings here. If you’re interested in a more in-depth discussion of the results, be sure to register for one of next week’s live webinar (North America & EMEA). In those sessions, we’ll highlight insights and trends revealed in the report, including some of our industry-specific best practices.

Three of our most notable findings in this year’s report include:

The average viewing time of a webinar is 36 minutes. This statistic reveals exactly why webinars have been consistently ranked as a top marketing tool. Getting a prospect to spend more than half an hour engaging with your brand and content is a massive win.

The best day for registrations is Monday. In 2015, Monday saw the highest number of pre-registrations, with 22.1% of all pre-registered attendees signing up on that day. The data showed a  higher registration for those webinars promoted earlier in the week, when professionals are back in the office with a full week ahead of them. However, the best time to host a webinar was quite different — tune in live next week to find out when it is!

Video usage is up 33.3%. As marketers are rapidly investing in video as a content marketing tactic, the number of videos on our platform spiked significantly over the past year. Sometimes referred to as the “single most important strategy in content marketing,” effective marketers are using video to engage prospects — and it’s working. Unlike other social platforms, BrightTALK Channels make it easy for users to upload video content and maximize exposure while capturing rich data about viewers.

The full report also contains other data on live vs. on-demand attendance, highest attended summits and optimizing your webinar promotion timelines. Join us on Tuesday, March 1 at 10am Pacific and 10:30am GMT for more results and tips on how you can apply these learnings to your own webinar marketing program.
