A Marketer’s Guide to Trade Shows: SITS 2014

At BrightTALK, we love SITS. We attend the show every year and were thrilled to be an official media partner for the 2014 event. Over 10,000 IT service management professionals flocked to Earl’s Court in London to hear top keynote speakers share their insights on new technologies and trends, making it one of the industry’s must-attend events.

For BrightTALK, the event is a great opportunity for us to catch up with our clients, meet the great speakers that present in our ITSM community and find out more about the upcoming trends and products that will be impacting BrightTALK’s audience of more than 300,000 ITSM professionals.

Over 250 products and services were on display at the event, challenging exhibitors to be creative with their marketing in order to attract audiences and stand out from the crowd.

ManageEngine, for example, put on a spread that had everyone tweeting! At 12pm, a food truck greeted attendees with experienced chefs serving the day’s dishes (hamburgers and fish & chips). Having convinced us that there really was such a thing as a free lunch, we were also persuaded to tweet our #riseoffree selfies, with the possibility of winning an iPad!

Not only did this campaign create buzz around the event, it also aligned nicely with the messaging for their flagship product. ServiceDesk Plus is free for all users with no restrictions users, agents, or ticket count – giving its users a free lunch.

ManageEngine is just one example of how exhibitors can make an impact at a trade show and increase audience engagement and lead generation.
